Count your git commits locally

Ever won­dered how many com­mits you have made in your repos­i­tory? Of course you can always upload to github and see the com­mits but why upload when you can see it locally. This is just a fun com­mand if you like to mea­sure your progress by the num­ber of com­mits that you make.

git shortlog -s

The com­mand lists the com­mits for all the con­trib­u­tors in the active branch. If you feel like sort­ing it, just pass in the –n option

git shortlog -s -n
