How to skip or bypass a pre commit hook in git

Lets say that you con­fig­ured a com­mit hook like run­ning a jshint, or some other code qual­ity checker. But for some rea­son, at this point, you just want to com­mit even though the pre­com­mit hooks are spit­ting out errors.

To bypass your pre-commit scripts when com­mit­ing, just com­mit with the fol­low­ing option

git commit -n


git commit --no-verify
